Aquapac Waterproof Headphones - A Buyer's Guide

There has always been a place for music in the human civilization since time immemorial. It has served a number of purposes ranging from relaxation, entertainment to simply fighting boredom or passing time. For whatever reason, people always try to add music to their daily activities. There is no longer a necessity for people to go to concerts or use their elaborate sound systems at home to quench their thirst for music. Our technological evolution has made it possible for us to enjoy music wherever we may be from the old portable radio, walkman and portable CD players to the more modern iPod.

The iPod is always a welcome companion for persons while traveling or even while having their daily exercise. There is nothing like having cool and soothing music to pick your spirits up while on the road or while you are doing some heavy exercise. With the onset of waterproof cases and headphones, nowadays it is possible to use your music devices even when in the water. Aquapac waterproof headphones are suitable to these kinds of needs.

The Makers: These headphones are made by a company called Aquapac. It is based in London, England and has been in the business of making high quality waterproof protective cases for the past 27 years. Their product-line includes dry bags, camera cases, cellphone cases, iPod cases and the recent waterproof headphones.

Judging from its branding, Aquapac waterproof headphones are waterproof headphones with an in-the-ear design. Accompanied by a 3.5mm plug, it is designed to produce a great quality of sound both above and below the waterline. The headphones have been tested to endure depths of up to 32ft. but are not advisable to be used at a depth exceeding 10ft. since the water pressure is likely to cause damage in hearing.

It also has a silicon tip which acts as a seal in the ears to keep the water from soaking through. These silicon tips are very solid and are very effective in preventing any water seepage unless they are removed on purpose or otherwise. However, since this is likely to happen when one is moving in the water, the ideal waterproof headsets should be completely impermeable by water. These headphones are ideal for activities in the water such as boating, swimming and snorkeling.

The Performance: The headphones have been tested to hold out even on depths of up to 10m/32ft. but are apparently unsuited for depths exceeding 10ft/3m as hearing impairment from water pressure in these levels are very likely to occur. It is submersible and capable of submersion for a depth of 5m for up to 30 minutes.

Despite the fact that it is waterproof as suggested by its brand name, these headphones cannot be submerged by itself under water without having the sound quality being adversely affected although not totally inaudible. It has to be placed in a person's ears for it to be protected from water. Nevertheless, the normal sound can be restored by wiping it dry with a towel or cloth.

In all, people who want to use their music players while in the water would find the Aquapac waterproof headphones very useful. It is indeed another extra step to achieving the portability and convenience of listening to our favorite tunes whenever and wherever we wish. We should expect to see a lot more improvement as to these kinds of devices in the future.
